NYT 175 NYE | Photo Pulls: On Site
These are just a few things we saw on-site. There's the linotype era, the Zipper, early NYE balls, slight variations in masthead (New-York Times was once hyphenated), a handwritten mission statement in pencil by Adolph Ochs.
Some ideas that come from these images:
A1's or section and supplement headers that mark
– moments in institutional/journlistic history for the NYT
– first color A1
– historic dates (like 1/1/2000)
(and perhaps scans, rather than digital?)
On site, Jeff brought several folders from the morgue containing photos like this, which we should request digitals of. Should we also request the back of each photo?
